Belarus oppisition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has a meeting scheduled with president-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. in the near future.
In an interview with Belsat, Tihanovskaya confirmed that her team had received an invitation from Joe Biden to a meeting. However, she didn’t specify the date or the format of the meeting.
“We are planning a meeting with Joe Biden, we have already received an invitation,” said Tikhanovskaya.
Later, Franak Viačorka, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya’s advisor specified that the ex-presidential candidate has not received any official invitation from Joe Biden yet.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has an interest in visiting Washington, D.C., as soon as it is possible. We are discussing the potential dates. However, to be crystal-clear, Sviatlana did not receive any official invitation from Joe Biden.

There have been no announcements of the upcoming meeting with Tikhanovskaya from the White House, so far. Just recently the Washington Post suggested the 46th president to meet Tikhanovskaya to show solidarity with those fighting for democracy in Belarus.
This autumn Tikhanovskaya met with a number of world leaders, including with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová, Foreign Ministers of Bulgaria, Austria, Greece and other EU countries.
She spoke in the Bundestag and addressed the deputies of the French National Assembly via video link.
