Minsk Mayor Vows Hotel And Cafe Prices Won’t Rise Ahead 2019 European Games

Hotels and cafes will fix prices before 2019 European Games, Head of Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Shorets said.

The 2nd European Games will take place on 21-30 June 2019.

The mayor said price fixing is be determined both by governmental control and economic situation.

“All hotels now have a flexible pricing policy,” Andrei Shorets said.

“Besides, we will conclude a memorandum on price fixing starting 1 January, 2019 with all hotels, both state and private,” Minsk head explained.

The same rule will apply to restaurants, cafes and bars.

The organizers expect over 11,000 participants at the European Games in Minsk. The program of the Games includes 15 sports and 189 medals in 23 disciplines.

Minsk is also preparing to welcome the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in 2021. The tournament will take place on 7-23 May and will be co-hosted by the Belarusian capital and Latvian capital Riga.
