Last week Apple and its retailers announced the official prices of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It appeared that the price of the smartphone in Belarus was higher than in the US, Russia and European states. Belarusian journalists decided to make a more detailed comparison.
They looked at the official prices of a basic 32 GB model in US dollars in 20 countries.
Unfortunately, some countries of interest (for example, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Brazil that traditionally has the most expensive iPhones) have not yet revealed the price, so they couldn’t be included in the list.
In addition, it should be taken into attention that the US price would add up a sales tax, that varies from state to state (in Delaware it is 0%).
Still, the fact remains: iPhones in Belarus are much more expensive than in most European states and the neighboring Russia and Poland.
As if we were billionaires, really!
