$20 For Superb Dishes. Fine Dining Gastrofest Starts In Minsk This Week

The elegant waiting staff with impeccable manners, fancy cutlery, aroma of expensive wine, and delicious meals. Champagne Gastrofest starts in Minsk tomorrow and will last till Sunday.

Eight high-end restaurants are ready to entertain, surprise and let their visitors experience the most wonderful gastronomic feelings.

To spoil yourself with some fine dining, make sure you have at least 40 Belarusian rubles or $20 in your pocket.

Cafe de Paris

Where: 8, Karl Marx street

What’s in the set: Baked oysters Fine de Clair No. 1, ravioli with beef, chanterelles and goat cheesefondue.

For dessert – almond tartlet with pear, almond crumble and ice cream.

Bar: Dot XX1

Where: 9, Pobediteley Ave.

What’s in the set: Seafood – langoustines, tiger shrimps, halibut, salmon, mussels – grilled on hot stones.

Cooked in front of the guest in fish broth with lemongrass, kafir lime and orange. A culinary delight is served with saffron rice, ponzu sauce and Asian tomato relish.

What’s in the set: Salad with shrimps, dried tomatoes and arugula; melon gazpacho with Parma ham; yellowfin tuna fillet on avocado mousse with cucumber-lime sorbet.

Peach and pomegranate-raspberry eclairs will satisfy your longing for something sweet and airy.

Grand Cafe

What’s in the set: An entrée – tuna with wasabi, scallop with mango, foie gras pate with cranberry jelly.

Then go salmon with cheddar cheese and tiger shrimp with mascarpone cream, scallops with leek and white sauce.

Pasta with foie gras and raspberry sauce to be sure you will leave the place full and happy.

What’s in the set: Salad mix with seasonal vegetables and wood mushrooms with nut sauce; spicy pork with sweet oriental sauce.

Stewed beef with mango and summer vegetables; tiger prawns in crispy crust, home-made tofu in sweet chili sauce.

Baozi, jiaozi (oriental dumplings) and sweet sticks with a red beans stuffing.
