Looking for a culture hit? Come to Minsk, one of the best places in the world to see and experience art and culture.
Paint your life with with all the colours of the rainbow.
And this is not we, who are telling you to drop everything and marvel at brightly coloured murals. Actually, this is Australian Traveller magazine reports.
“With the introduction of a five-day visa-free stay for Australians travelling through Minsk National Airport this progressive (and super clean) city is opening up.
The Soviet-era architecture is still here, but the biggest surprise is the music and street art scene – Oktyabr’skaya Street.”
Among other welcome suprises are “fashionable cafes, design studios and youthful vigour that 22 universities bring to a city.”
Street art on Oktyabrskaya Street is a part of the annual Vulica Brasil, Brazilian and Belarusian street art festival.
Vulica Brasil started in 2014 thanks to Brazilian embassy workers, who persuaded the city authorities to bring art into the city streets.
Since then about two dozen monumental masterpieces and art objects were created, transforming the local urban space.
Among other cities in the list are Tokyo, Berlin, Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, New South Wales, Dubai, Nyamirambo, Petra, Doha, Kigali, North Dakota and Patagonia.
