Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree on awarding medals to a large group of security officials. The document was published on the national legal portal.
Medals for Impeccable Service of the I, II and III classes were bestowed upon more than 300 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and military personnel. The list of awarded people takes 25 pages.
Later in the day, the MIA commented on awarding the police personnel, saying that the fact has nothing to do with the dispersal of unauthorized protests. “Papers on awarding the police personnel were submitted to the Council of Ministers in line with the established procedure back in March 2020,” stressed in the minsitry.
