Google Maps has added public transport to its Minsk map.
Move around like a local!
Until recently, the function was not supported for the capital of Belarus – it allowed to build only car or foot routes.
Now the app shows how to get to a from one point to another by public transport, including shuttle buses (the renowned marshrutkas).
Users can choose options – best route, fewer transfers, wheelchair accessible, lowest cost – and see the estimated time of arrival with each of them. There’s also the approximate cost of the trip calculated in Belarusian rubles.
Public transport in Google Maps is an alternative to the rival Yandex.Maps, that have had the option for years.
