Foreign citizens who plan to travel to Belarus and apply for a Belarusian visa will have an opportunity to buy compulsory Belarus health insurance online.
UPD (on 26 June 2019): The service is provided by state insurance company Belgosstrakh starting 10 June 2019.
A number of changes in insurance legislation will come in force in Belarus on 1 September 2019, according to TUT.BY. Some of the novelties concern insurance requirements for foreign nationals.
In particular, starting 10 June foreigners can buy the obligatory insurance online at Belgosstrakh website.
To buy a Belarus health insurance, a foreign national has to register at the insurer’s website, fill in their personal data and home address. Then they can purchase the insurance online – the contract will be confirmed by a notification with a digital signature of the insurer.
Travelers need to print the insurance out, Belgosstrakh underlined.
The price of Belarus health insurance purchased online does not differ from the one purchased at the insurer’s office.
The new regulations will also exempt border officials from the obligation to control insurances of foreigners entering Belarus starting 1 September 2019.
Foreigners who have been granted refugee status, subsidiary protection or asylum in Belarus will not be subject to insurance, according to new rules.
