Belavia To Buy Two New Embraer Aircraft

Two new Embraer aircraft will be added to the air fleet of Belavia in May 2018, the company reported on 20 June. The cost of the new aircraft is $99.1 million.

The Belarusian air carrier has placed a firm order for E175 and E195 models of the Brazilian planemaker.

Ambassador of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko (L), representatives of Belavia and Embaer at the Paris International Air Show.

Belavia announced the purchase at the Paris International Air Show on Tuesday.

Belavia already has four Embraer planes in its fleet.

So the delivery of the new Embraer jets won’t require additional expenditure on technical support and personnel training due to the lack of technical differences between the new aircraft and those already in operation, Anatoly Gusarov, General Director of Belavia Airlines, noted.

It is interesting that the Belarusian airline is one of the most active users of Embraer aircraft in the world. In June last year, the company took the first place in the manufacturer’s rating for the daily flight on E195 (11.02 flying hours).

The planes will allow Belavia to continue increasing passenger traffic. For example, last year the air carrier raised this figure by 19.1% to 2.5 million passengers.

Besides Embraers, the Belavia’s fleet includes five Boeing 737-800, six Boeing 737-500, seven Boeing 737-300 and four Bombardier CRJ100/200LRs aircraft.
