Border guards stopped a Danish tourist who was walking from Poland to Belarus on railway tracks On May 23, the State Border Committee reports.
The foreigner whose name is not disclosed was stopped 100 meters from the border, at the Bruzgi railway station. The 24-year-old man was spotted with the help of surveillance cameras.
The detainee carried a driver’s license and passport that expired two years ago. According to the tourist, he was walking to Minsk for tourism.
He was also carrying maps of Belarus and Russia with him. The foreigner was detained for the purpose of identification, the incident was reported to the Polish side.
The investigation was launched under two articles: for illegal crossing of the state border and breaking the rules for staying in Belarus.
