COVID-19 Second Wave In Belarus: 138,219 Infected, 1,572 New Cases

138,219 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Belarus since the outbreak, the Healthcare Ministry reports in the Telegram channel. The daily increase is 1,572 new cases, the day before it was 1,639.

Over the past few days, the number of new COVID-19 cases per day decreased and amounted to 1,572. The day before, there were 1,684 cases, 1,691 cases were registered on 28 and 29 November and 1,621 cases – on 27 November.

Also, fewer than usual patients recovered and were discharged today – 893 patients (the day before – 966). In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in Belarus, 115,587 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged.

A total of 1,166 coronavirus patients have died (+ eight people in the 24 hours) since the outbreak. Belarus has conducted 1,835,232 tests (+9,751 in the 24 hours). Belarus has conducted 3,279,137 tests (+9,561 in the 24 hours).

According to Yuri Gorbich, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Children’s Infections of BelMAPO, Belarus is approaching the peak incidence of the second wave of coronavirus.

He also said that “we are approaching capacity limits of inpatient healthcare organizations.” The medic noted that the number of COVID-19 cases during the second wave in Belarus is higher than it was in the spring.
