As of 31 July, 67,808 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Belarus. The number of new infections per day is 143, the Healthcare Ministry reports.
62,444 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals (+679 patients in the 24 hours). A total of 559 coronavirus patients have died (+6 in the 24 hours) since the outbreak. That is there are 4,805 COVID-19 infected people in the country at the moment.
Belarus has carried out 1,299,428 tests (+10,842 in the 24 hours). Earlier Lithuanian professor Saulius Čaplinskas stated that the country is starting to cope with the epidemic, when the percentage of positive test results is 3% per day or less.
The percentage of positive test results in Belarus is 1,3. Belarus President Alexader Lukashenko is also one of those who has recovered from coronavirus. He made such a statement on 28 July, specifying that he was asymptomatic.
The press service of the Healthcare Ministry reported that more than 30% of all COVID-19 cases were in Minsk. The minsitry expects a second wave of COVID-19 in November-December. Personal protective equipment, medications are restocked, additional oxygen points are installed.
