Belarusian airline Belavia and Belarusian portal TUT.BY have launched a contest for the design of a new uniform for pilots and flight attendants. You can cast your vote for any of the 15 shortlisted designs by 21 May.
The air carrier announced the contest for a new uniform in March this year. Design concepts from professionals and amateurs were accepted till 14 April.
All in all, 28 drafts were submitted to the contest. People from Belarus, Italy, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and the UK sent their visions of the new look of Belavia’s crews.
Based on the requirements of the design specification and the opinion of expert commission, 15 options were selected for public voting.
The voting started on 10 May and will last till 21 May. Five works with most votes will make it to the final round where the best one will be determined by a professional jury.

Design by Maria Epanchintseva, 25, a Belarusian living in the UK. Maria is a graduate of Kingston University London and Central Saint Martins London, participant of the Graduate Fashion Week London, a nominee for the Janet Nicholson Student of the Year award. Elegant wavy lines, cornflower and a blue logo have determined general style of her collection.
Design by Belarusian Lyubov Belyaeva, 28, and Italians Giorgio Carradi and Clarissa Fiume, 21, from Turin. The authors of this concept are students of IAAD, Italian Institute for Design. The inspirationa of their collection is the desire to open the Belarusian identity to travel around the world. The design is a combination of traditions and elegance, and the modern understanding of the form.
Design by Ekaterina Klyazovich, 31, from Belarus. The author works at the school of fashion design. Ekaterina sees the new uniform through the prism of laconicism and comfort.
