VIDEO: Belarusian Breaks Guinness World Record For Ring Muscle Ups

Maxim Trukhonovets, an athlete from Minsk in Belarus, broke the world record for the highest number of muscle ups on rings.

The Belarusian already had his name mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records for the maximum number of pull-ups and most consecutive muscle ups.

This May the tough guy performed the highest number of muscle ups on rings – 18 reps – and did it spectacularly. He then sent the video to the representatives of the reference book who officially approved the record in early June.

Typically, Maxim’s daily training session lasts for two-three hours. However, while preparing to set a record, the athlete rested for two days every two weeks before checking how many muscle ups he can do.

“People think: you set a record and they will give you a bag of money for this. That’s not quite true. They don’t pay for it. On the contrary, those who want to quickly confirm the record must pay $1,450,” Maxim explains.

This time the organizers themselves were interested in registering the record as quickly as possible. Maxim’s previous record for the most consecutive muscle ups on the YouTube channel of the Guinness Book of Records gathered 15 million views.

Soon after the video was published, the Belarusian was invited to Italy to take part in a program about the Guinness Book champions and was invited to set another record in the UK.
