The wooden building of the Belarusian Memorial Chapel in London has won People’s Choice of the New London Award 2017.
The chapel, commemorating victims of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, was shortlisted in three categories: sustainability Ashden Prize, Culture & Community and People’s Choice.
The winner of the latter was determined by public voting.

The small wooden chapel for the Belarusian community of north the British capital was designed by Spheron Architects. The chapel opened in December 2016.
The chapel in London resembles traditional baroque churches of Belarus.
