With tennis star Victoria Azarenka out of the final Grad Slam this year, Belarusians keep their fingers crossed and hearts beating for the promising 23-year-old Aliaksandra, who had a confident 6-2, 6-2 win over 26-year-old Julia Boserup (world No. 115) on Monday.
The Belarusian, who is world No. 88, will next play against the former Wimbledon junior champion Ashleigh Barty of Australia (world No. 43).
Aliaksandra Sasnovich has won eleven singles and seven doubles titles on the ITF tour in her career. She has played U.S. Open twice, her best result being the ticket to 2nd round in 2014.
