Lower Than Columbia, Higher Than Russia. Belarus Ranked 73rd In Prosperity Index

The British analytical institute’s Legatum Prosperity Index 2019 put Belarus at the 73rd place out of 167 possible. Since 2009, the country has improved its position by seven points. Belarus performs most strongly in education (32nd place), living conditions (45th) and economic development (54th) but is weakest in personal freedom (145th), social capital (143rd) and public administration (123rd). The biggest improvement compared to a decade ago came in enterprise conditions (87th). Belarus was ranked higher than Russia (74th) and Ukraine (96th), but lower than Lithuania (33rd), Latvia (35th) and Poland (36th).
