Belarus’ IT Businessman Partners With Russian Billionaire For $100 Mln Investment Projects

The investment fund Larnabel Enterprises, founded by the family of Russian billionaire Mikhail Gutseriev, and the investment company VP Capital, created by Belarusian IT businessman Viktor Prokopenya, have announced the beginning of cooperation in joint projects in a number of European countries.

The information about the partnership was announced in a joint press release, TUT.BY wrote on 15 December.

The joint investment of the two companies will be directed at the promising innovative projects related to the creation and promotion of IT products based on artificial intelligence. The planned volume of investment is over $100 million.

Prokopenya believes that “in the next 5 years artificial intelligence will change the world as much mobile devices and the Internet once did”. Mikhail Gutseriev, in his turn, is confident that “the high professionalism and knowledge of Victor and his team” will help in the implementation of their promising plans.

Viktor Prokopenya is one of the major IT businessman in Belarus, known for investment in Viaden Media, a leader in mobile development, and EXP(Capital) investment fund.

Prokopenya is the founder of VP Capital, a global investment vehicle focused on the technology sector.


Mikhail Gutseriev is a Russian entrepreneur and businessman, the owner of “Russneft”, NK “Neftisa”, OAO “Russian Coal”, ZAO “Mospromstroy” and other assets.

According to Forbes, Gutseriev has a personal fortune of $6.2 billion as of March 2016, up from $2.4 billion the previous year. The businessman is №205 in the Forbe’s 2016 List of World’s Billionaires.

For the first time Mikhail Gutseriev announced investment cooperation with the Belarusian IT-sector at 2016 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June. He did not name the company, which he invested in, but said it was engaged in financial transactions.
