President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen invited Alexander Lukashenko to visit the Austrian capital in the message to congratulate Belarus on Independence Day.
The message was posted by the press-service of the Belarusian leader.
“2019 is important for our bilateral relations,” the message reads.
“I will be glad to welcome you in Vienna in November. I would also like to use this opportunity to wish you personal well-being and all the best, as well as a happy future for the Belarusian people,” press-service cited the message from Alexander Van der Bellen.
In March 2019, Alexander Lukashenko met with Sebastian Kurz, Federal Chancellor of Austria at the time. Kurz mentioned a possible return visit of Lukashenko within six months and confirmed the intention to build “good long-term relations” with Belarus.
The Embassy of Austria in Minsk was inaugurated in February 2016.
