Austria has banned passenger flights from Belarus since 23 May. elavia has flown between Minsk and Vienna since 25 April, www.austrianaviation.net reports.
Besides Belarus, passenger flights from China, Iran, Italy, France, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Russia are not welcome in Austria. Belavia explained that flights were suspended until 14 June. The airlines started to operate daily flights between Minsk and Vienna on 25 April.
Earlier, Estonia closed its airports for flights from seven countries, Belarus included, due to the risk of coronavirus infection. The suspension between Minsk and Tallinn will come in force on 24 May. Minsk-Tallinn-Minsk flights will be canceled from 25 May till 7 June.
Also, Ukraine has opened its borders with all the neighbouring countries (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and so on), except for Russia and Belarus. The reason is the same – both in Russia and Belarus have an extraordinary epidemiological situation, the Ukrainian side believes.
