Will You Join? Augustow Canal To Host First Half Marathon On 23 June

Jogging fans, here’s a new opportunity to test yourself! The debut edition of the Augustow Canal Half Marathon takes place on Saturday, 23 June.

The route will pass along the most picturesque views of the natural pearl of Grodno region.

More than 100 runners have registered for the race so far. Athletes from Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania are expected to join the event.

Runners can choose from three distances – 5, 10 or 21.5 km. The track is partly on concrete and partly on ground, and is interesting both in terms of racing and in terms of sightseeing, according to the organizers.

The can compete in different age groups as well as individually and in teams. After the half marathon, a friendly dinner accompanied by an entertainment program is planned for all the participants.

Besides, the participants will be able to transfer from Grodno and back for free. And don’t forget the prizes, of course!

The registration is still open, so you can still jump in! Or at least, come and support while enjoying the nature (full program of half marathon here).

No visa needed and other races

This year, visa-free stay on the Augustow canal was extended to ten days.  Currently, the Augustow canal offers various facilities for tourists.

If you can’t make the Saturday’s race, you can join the cross-border marathon that will run between Grodno and Lithuania’s Druskininkai on 15 July. Representatives of nine countries have already submitted their applications.
