The Belarus national football team have presented a new uniform with national patterns called a “vyshyvanka”.
The event took place at one of the Silver Screen cinemas on Tuesday, August 9.
The t-shirts with embroidered national patterns (also known as vyshyvanka) were presented by several national team players: Alexander Hleb, Nikolai Signevich, Nikolay Yanush, Denis Polyakov, Nikita Korzun, Igor Stasevich and goalkeeper Andrei Klimovich.
According to Sergei Rumas, the chairman of the association of Belarusian football federation”, it was necessary to approve the project in the UEFA before adding new elements to the official kits.
Belarus had to prove that the changes were purely a tribute to the national folk traditions as no advertising is allowed.
At the end of August, the team of manager Alexander Khatskevich will appear in a new kit during the friendly match against Norway in Oslo.
Belarusian fans will see the new kits during the first 2018 World Cup qualifier where Belarus will play against France on September 6 at Borisov Arena.
