On 10 October Minsk main passenger railway station welcomed a Lithuanian two-storey train Škoda from Vilnius.
The train will connect the two capitals in December.
The double-decker made a test trip and, having spent two hours in Minsk, returned to Vilnius.
New trains were purchased from Škoda Vagonka, passenger rail vehicles manufacturer belonging to Škoda Transportation.
Each train consists of three coaches with 290 seats, including 23 first class seats on the upper floor.
The coaches are spacious inside; there is place to store bicycles, baby carriages and oversized luggage.
Seats have sockets for PC and smartphones.
Besides, the trains are adapted for passengers with special needs.
Such double-decker trains can ride with the maximum speed of 160 km/h.
Passengers will be able to see information about the route and speed on special screens.
Is it expected that the new train will start running between Minsk and Vilnius on 10 December.
