VIDEO: This Military Band Rocks Music Festival With… Polka

Musicians from Belarus won the hearts of the public at the international festival of military bands “Spasskaya Tower” 2016 in Moscow, Russia.

The Honor Guard and the Band of the Armed Forces marched the Red Square playing the song “Belarus” by the legendary Belarusian rock band Pesniary.

But got a standing ovation from the audience by their parformance of the Belarusian Polka.

The Demonstration band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus was founded in 1950 as the band of the headquarters of the Belorussian military district.

In 65 years of its existence the band has made a great contribution to the development of the Belarusian music art, consolidation of friendship between nations, and now actively works with the main composers, soloists and music ensembles in Belarus and abroad.

Since 1993 the band has took part in various prestigious festivals in Europe: Great Britain and Ireland (London, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Limerick, Plymouth), Germany (Berlin, Bonn, Braunschweig, Hanover, Hamburg, Neumunster, Frankfurt-am-Main, Hildesheim), France (Paris, Arras, Betun, Valais, Lille), Poland (Krakow), Sweden (Eksjö).

9th International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower” was held from 27 August till 4 September. This year’s edition of the festival was attended by 20 military bands from 12 European and Asian countries.
