American Embassy Expands Visa Services In Minsk

The Embassy of the United States in Minsk has announced a new expansion of visa services in Belarus.

The Belarusians won’t have to go to neighboring countries for the visas!

Starting 9 January 2018, the American embassy will accept applications from Belarus residents.

This applies to the following nonimmigrant visa categories: A, C1/D, G, F, H, I, J, L, M, O, P, and R.

However, the age based restriction for B1/B2 applicants (tourist/business) remains in place.

Currently only Belarusian residents aged 50 and older may apply for B1/B2 visas in Minsk.

“We are working to increase the capacity of our consular section and hope to further expand visa services in the near future,” the embassy said.

Recall that in November this year the embassy reduced the age requirement for non-immigration visa applicants from 70 to 50 years.

The decision had been reportedly prompted by the strained relations between the United States and Russia.
