Unique retro cars on Belarusian roads: Peking to Paris Motor Challenge crossing Belarus.
Participants of the rally Peking to Paris Motor Challenge 2016, that started on June 12 in Beijing, have arrived in Belarus. The first city on their way was Polotsk.
On Tuesday the cortege consisting of Аlvis, Hudson, Studebaker, Bristol and many other retro cars stopped in Minsk.
“Roads in Belarus are better than in Russia. And landscapes are pretty, although we have not seen much yet”, a new zealander Harry Washington said. Together with his father the man is driving a Chrysler 75 Roadster made in 1929.
In Belarus, the cars are competing on two tracks: special sections of gravel roads, well-known to Belarusian fans of motor racing.
One of them is near Lepel where the drivers raced seven kilometers of gravel road with sharp curves and S-shaped turns lined up with dense forest on both sides.
From Minsk retro cars will move to Brest and then to Poland.
The 2016, 6th edition, Peking to Paris Motor Challenge lasts for 36 days and will finish in Paris in Place Vendome on Sunday, July 17.
This is the second time the rally passes through Belarus.
