Minsk and Brest hit the list of the top ten most popular destinations for CIS* tourists in winter.
The ranking based on the analysis of the popularity of tourist trips this winter season.
The top-10 most popular tourist cities in winter 2016 include:

- Almaty, Kazakhstan
- Astana, Kazakhstan
- Baku, Azerbaijan
- Yerevan, Armenia
- Tashkent, Uzbekistan
- Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
- Brest, Belarus
- Chisinau, Moldova
- Ganja, Azerbaijan
Tourists travel to CIS capitals and metropolises at the weekends, also taking up tours to ski resorts.
The most popular are Silichi and Logoisk in Belarus, Chimbulak in Kazakhstan, Shahdag and Tufandag in Azerbaijan.
According to the TurStat analytical agency, tourists spend an average of three days in Belaru and spend about $70 a day.
The low-cost destinations for tourists are Brest and Bishkek, Astana and Baku top the most expensive cities of the list.
The countries are attractive for tourists due to low prices, well-developed infrastructure and visa-free regime.
According to the latest data, a total of 56,000 tourists have visited Minsk after 5 days visa-free program was launched in Belarus in mid-February this year.
They arrived from 68 countries. The majority of guests came from Germany, Poland, Italy, the United States and the United Kingdom.
