The Ministry of Sports and Tourism has issued instructions on the procedures and conditions of the creation and operation of tourist information centres in Minsk.
Tourist information centres must collect and share information on attractions, art monuments, history and architecture of Belarus, rural tourism facilities, excursions, cultural events, exhibitions, festivals, public transport schedule, and other information necessary for tourists.
Info centres can be set up by local executive and administrative bodies, other legal entities and individuals in any organizational-legal form.
They must be located on the ground floor of a building and designated by an information sign (a white letter «i» on a green background). The surrounding area should have a free car parking spaces, including parking for disabled, and bike ramps.
Tourist information centres must be operating daily from 8:00 to 20:00. During the period of increased tourist demand, including for large-scale sports and cultural events, they might operate 24/7.
The instructions will enter into force on 24 January 2017.
