Minsk National Airport will become the scene of a training exercise on Friday, 6 July.

The information was made public at the official website of the State Security Committee of Belarus (KGB).
The KGB units, the Interior Ministry, the State Border Committee, the Emergencies Ministry, and other agencies will also take part in the exercise.
The objective of the exercise is to determine effectiveness of the measures and procedures in emergency situations at the airport.
Besides, the exercise is a part of the preparation program ahead of the 2nd European Games that will be held in Minsk next year.
The government agencies will train to take prio and subsequent measures in response to illegal interference with the use of civil aviation prior to and during the Games.
It remains unclear how realistic a test of the procedures will be and whether the area of the exercise will be isolated or cordoned off.
Recall that Minsk National Airport recently won in the CIS Best Airport of 2017 nomination with the total transportation of more than one million passengers.
Minsk National Airport is Belarus’ first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001.
The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
It was also named one of the most punctual European airports in the category “From 1.5 to 5 million passengers a year”.
