Belarus is working toward full removal of the American sanctions against it, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Belarus in the United States Pavel Shidlovsky told the media on 13 July.

He said the bilateral relations have been developing over the past few years.

“Normalization has been observed over the past few years. Certain stereotypes remain, U.S. sanctions have not been completely removed.

We are working to ensure that these restrictive measure are lifted completely,” said Pavel Shidlovskiy.

Belarus is building dialogue with the new U.S. administration, the diplomat added.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs paid a visit to the United States, and political consultations with the Department of State were held.

“We maintain positive ties with the Department of State and other U.S. agencies. Economic ties between the two countries are growing stronger as a result,” Pavel Shidlovsky said.
