Lithuania has announced it would launch new modern trains between Minsk and Vilnius in December 2017.
Double-deckers with Wi-Fi!
New trains were purchased from Škoda Vagonka, passenger rail vehicles manufacturer belonging to Škoda Transportation.
“The trains have already arrived in Lithuania. These are modern double-deck electro trains with the maximum speed of 160 km/h,” Lithuanian Railways Director General told the media on 13 September.
Each train consists of three coaches with 290 seats, including 23 first class seats.
The trains are equipped with systems of audio and video information for passengers, internal and external cameras.
There are spaces for luggage and bicycles transportation, sockets for PC and smartphones.
Trains are adapted for passengers with special needs.
Vilnius-Minsk destination is one of the most popular routes of the Lithuanian Railways. It carried 200,000 passengers in the first 8 months of 2017.
