The names of stations in Minsk metro are now announced in English in addition to Belarusian.
So far English can be heard only at Aŭtazavodskaja line, but will soon be re-introduced at all stations, TUT.BY writes on 10 February.
According to metro authorities, it was the initiative of Minsk City Council to broadcast announcements in English in public transport, including the underground.
In this regard, Minsk metro switched on messages in Belarusian and English on stations and in Russian and English in trains.
English-language announcements have been brought back for the first time since 2014.
They were introduced before the IIHF World Hockey Championship but were turned off several months after the competition ended.
