Hundreds of Belarusian beauties took to the streets of Minsk to take part in a bicyle carnaval last weekend.
Not your typical bicycle ride.
TUT.BY joined a cheerful crowd of bike lovers who leisurely rode around the city in a colourful parade.
Wearing offbeat urban costumes the women competed for the titles of “Miss Velograce” and “Miss Velosport”.
They showed their skills in bicycle dancing, spinning exercise bike pedals and most graceful walk down the red carpet with a bicycle.
The race was led by the eight-time World Champion in track sprinting Natallia Tsylinskaya and “Eurovision” participant Ruslan Alehno
Besides the parade, International UCI Europe Tour road races – 176km Minsk Cup and 145km Grand Prix Minsk – was held in Minsk.
The 4th edition of the race gathered 160 professional racers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland and other countries.
Recall that last year the European Union has allocated €560,000 to encourage Belarusians to ride bicycles in cities.
