Minsk National Airport has welcomed its 2017 millionth passenger, the press service of the airport reported.
“This morning, on 28 April, we welcomed our millionth passenger in 2017. The man arrived on flight Tbilisi-Minsk,” the press service said.
Last year, the airport celebrated it in the end of May.
In January-March traffic via the airport increased by 29.6% compared with the same period in 2016.
First ever millionth passenger arrived to Minsk on 25 December 2008, the airport added.
Recently Minsk airport and Belavia won places in Top 10 of the airport and airline punctuality ratings for 2017.
According to the ranking, from October 2016 to March 2017 90.6% of flights in the airport departed or arrived on time.
At present the construction of the second runway is underway in the national airport. Autorities expect the second runway to be commissioned by 2019, the airport to receive four millions of passengers in 2020.
