Lukashenko Will Not Visit U.S. For WWI Anniversary

Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Kravchenko will represent Belarus at a memorial ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of U.S. entry into WWI, the ministry’s spokesman Dmitry Mironchik told the media.

The invitations to the event were earlier sent out by the United States World War I Centennial Commission.

“At the ceremony Belarus will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Kravchenko,” Mironchik said.

Belarus President Alexander Luksahenko had been invited to the event, that will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, on 6 April, too.

The previous visit of the Belarusian head to the USA took place in September 2015. Alexander Lukashenko took part in the UN Sustainable Development Summit.
