Wi-Fi Hotspot To Appear At Minsk Metro Stations

A public Wi-Fi hotspot will become available at the Minsk metro transfer stations this year, the Delovaya Set company reports.

Catching up with the rest of the world!

The Wi-Fi services will be provided at the Kastryčnickaja and Kupalaŭskaja stations, as well as the tunnel that connects them in the near future.

It is became possible thanks to a joint project of the Minsk metro and Delovaya Set that was approved by Minsk City Hall and the feasibility studies.

If the pilot project is successfully implemented, access to public Wi-Fi will be given at every metro station.

Meanwhile, MTS, velcom and life 🙂 are doing their best to ensure smooth work of and faster 3G at different sections of the metro.

The first 3G section appeared between Malinaŭka and Piatroŭščyna stations in June 2016.

Unfortunately, the connection between others stations are quite unstable, the work is still ongoing.

Stable internet connection in metro is expected in 2018 – early 2019,

According to the Delovaya Set top executives, Minsk should not lag behind other big cities, where such projects became a reality long ago.
