An International Monetary Fund mission arrived in Belarus on 19 September, the IMF office in Minsk told the media.
The mission headed by Peter Dohlman will be working in the country on 19 September – 1 October. According to the IMF office, Peter Dohlman will reveal the goal of the mission later.
It should be recalled that the previous IMF mission paid a visit to Belarus on 21-30 June. The experts assessed the country’s current economic policy and held annual consultations with the Belarusian authorities under Article IV.
The Belarusian authorities are currently negotiating a new $3 billion loan at 2.28% per annum for a period of ten years with the Fund. In exchange, the ogranization insists on economic reforms.
