Belarus will send humanitarian aid to Syria. The relevant decision was made by the Council of Ministers on 8 August, the media have reported.
Belarus’ humanitarian aid will include three dump trucks, baby food, and clothes and children’s footwear worth Br533,400 (~$280,000).
Expenses, including transportation and travel costs, will be covered by the part of the state budget allocated for natural disasters and emergency situations.
Besides, in May the country had invited a group of Syrian kids to children’s camps. 80 kids will spend holidays in Belarus from 14 to 28 August. The program of their stay includes rest and recreation, excursions to get them acquainted with Belarusian traditions and culture.
In June Belarus sent humanitarian cargo with food and hygiene products to Donbass in Ukraine.
