EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn will come to Belarus on 17 October.
The visit was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, 12 October.
The agenda of EU’s official visit includes meetings will the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and other officials.
“They will discuss cooperation prospects in various fields and the preparation for the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels in November,” MFA’s spokesman Dmitry Mironchik said.
Belarus was invited to take part in the summit earlier this week.
According to the EU Delegation to Belarus the invitation is addressed to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko personally, which had not happened for a long time.
“The decision about who will represent Belarus at the summit is up to Minsk,” a spokesperson for the EU told journalists.
The Eastern Partnership summit will take place in Brussels on 24 November.
