President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti is planning to visit Belarus, BelTA reports on Wednesday.
The visit is planned on 12-14 September.
Preparation of the visit was discussed during a meeting between Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and head of the bank’s representative office in Belarus.
“The parties discussed joint projects in the financial sector, in transport, environment, renewable energy, privatization and state property management and reviewed the preparation of the visit of Suma Chakrabarti to Belarus on 12-14 September,” the ministry’s press service said.
The officials also noted positive dynamics in cooperation between Belarus and EBRD.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is the largest institutional investor in the Belarusian economy, BelTA reports.
Since the start of its work in Belarus, the bank has invested almost €2 billion in various sectors of the country’s economy.
