Belarus Wins First Gold At Rio Paralympics

Belarus swimmer Ihar Boki won gold in the men’s S13 100m Butterfly final with a new world record time.

Main favourite and five-time London Paralympic champion Boki has been dubbed a gold medal factory to rival American Michael Phelps and he’s notched his first of these Games.

The 22-year-old swimmer actually broke his own previous record in the qualification finishing the distance in 54.54 seconds. In the final he set a new world and European record of 53.85 seconds.
