The National Tourism Agency (NTA) has launced the webiste belarus.travel that is designed to promote Belarus abroad. The new website was presented on 23 January.
This is an information website designed for foreign travel who intend to make an individual trip to the country.
“This year, we have updated the website of the National Tourism Agency designed for specialists, and have also launched the portal belarus.travel”, Anastasia Shatkevich, senior information specialist at the NTA said.
“Now the NTA has two tools for promoting tourism: the NTA website designed for the domestic market, travel agencies and tour guides, and the belarus.travel portal for promoting the country abroad.”
At present the website consists of several pages, but in the future it will have complete information on diverse travel opportunities in Belarus.
It will take about a month and a half to fill belarus.travel with content and about two months to add the English language version.
In future the website will have Belarusian, German and Polish versions.
Ahead of the start of visa-free entry to Belarus for citizens of 80 countries, NTA is working on other ways to promote Belarus. For example, it has published a guide with Top 100 things to do in Belarus – 100 secrets that have been carefully selected by the locals wishing to help tourists learn more about the country and find something to their liking.
The guide will be available in eight languages, including Russian, Polish, German, English, French, Chinese, Arabic, and Hebrew.
New promotional videos about the country have also been produced. The agency plans to focus on natural wealth and national cuisine in the formation of a tourist brand of Belarus.
The architectural heritage, cultural contrasts, a relaxing pace of life, forests and lakes, as well as medicine and wellness facilities will be emphasized among reasons to visit the country.
There are plans to intensify the work in religious, ecological and business tourism.
