Belarus Announces Its Olympic Team 2018

Belarus announced the members of its Olympic team for the 23rd Winter Olympic Games 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Belarus’ Olympic squad is ready to win!

The Belarusian squad for the Games will include the following athletes:

Biathlon, 10 athletes

Darya Domracheva, Nadezhda Skardino, Irina Krivko, Nadezhda Pisareva, Dinara Alimbekova;

Vladimir Chepelin, Sergei Bocharnikov, Maksim Vorobei, Roman Yeletnov, Anton Smolsky.

Speed Skating, 2 athletes

Ignat Golovatyuk, Marina Zueva.

Cross-country skiing, 7 athletes

Sergei Dolidovich, Alexander Voronov, Yuri Astapenko, Mikhail Semenov;

Yulia Tikhonova, Polina Seronosova, Anastasia Kirillova.

Freestyle, 6 athletes

Anton Kushnir, Stanislav Gladchenko, Maxim Gustik;

Anna Guskova, Aleksandra Romanovskaya, Alla Zuper.

Short track, 1 athlete

Maxim Sergeev.

Alpine Skiing, 2 athletes

Yuri Danilochkin and Maria Shkanova.

Speed ​​Skating, 2 athletes

Ignat Golovatyuk, Marina Zueva.

NOC First Vice President Andrei Astashevich stressed that the athletes have trained hard and scrupulously over the past four years.

“I am confident that Belarus is sending its best athletes who will represent Belarus at a high level,” he said.

The Games will take place on 9-25 February and feature 102 events in 15 sports.

Belarus places its medal hopes on biathlon and aerial skiing.

Recall that  the Belarusian athletes brought 5 gold medals home at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

The winners included biathlete Darya Domracheva (three), aerialists Anton Kushnir and Alla Tsuper
