Starting 1 April over 900 Belarusian cyclists will join a worldwide community of joyful riders and take part in a 30 Days of Biking challenge.
If you miss a day, no worries. Just keep riding!
The 30 Days of Biking is a pledge to ride a bike every day in April and share your adventures with others.
Everyone can join the movement and there’s no minimum or maximum distance — down a hill and around your house or garage count too.
In Minsk, the action will start this Sunday with a mass bike tour near Minsk Cycling Society centre.
To get a special identification card, which is inserted into the spokes of a bicycle, you need to register on the official website of the event.
“More than 900 participants from Belarus have already registered. According to the experience of the past years, we expect about 100-150 cyclists who will go on a tour.
A number of people doesn’t really depend on the weather, as it is traditionally lame on April 1,” the PR-manager of the Minsk Bicycle Society Tatiana Zharnosek said.
Besides “just riding for fun” there will be cycling race-quests, cycling tours and contests for the best family photo and the most beautiful track of the trip.
Last year, about 1,500 Belarusians took part in the 30 Days of Biking campaign, 800 of them were from Minsk.
Minsk gradually turns into a modern bike-friendly city.
Recall that last year the European Union has allocated €560,000 to encourage Belarusians to ride bicycles in cities.
