World’s Classics And Unique One-Acts At Ballet Summer In Bolshoi Theatre This Week

Belarusian, Georgian, Russian, Polish and Ukrainian dancers are showing their excellence at the 3rd festival “Ballet Summer in Bolshoi” in Minsk on 11-18 June.

The festival starts with the legendary “Swan Lake” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky on 11-12 June.

The main parts are performed by the soloists of the National Opera of Ukraine, Georgian Opera and Ballet Theater and St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater.

Dancers from the Astana Ballet Theater will perform in Minsk  on 13-15 June.

Kazakh company has brought six one-act ballets. “Love  Fear  Loss” and “Gaia” by Ricardo Amarante and the “Astana Ballet GALA” are scheduled for Tuesday, 13 June.

The program of 14 June includes “Carmen” and the ballet “Variety of Dance” that will include compositions of Mozart, Mascagni and Vivaldi.

The last evening of one-act parformances is 15 June.

On 16 June, the stars of the Belarusian ballet will perform the Grand Prix from “Paquita” by Ludwig Minkus, “Sonnets” and “Six Dances” by Jiri Kilian.

The festival will end on 18 June with a gala concert of artists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Germany and Belarus.
